Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas Raiders was founded in 1960 as an AFL team and made a name as one of the franchises that challenged the NFL. They gained almost immediate success under the tutelage of AI Davis and participated in the second edition of the Super Bowl in 1968. Eight years later, the Raiders emerged as victors in the Super Bowl XI with John Madden at the helm of affairs. After that, the team went on to win more Super Bowl championships within seven years and established their dominance in the AFC in the 70s and 80s.

In 1982, the Las Vegas Raiders moved base to Los Angeles, but it was short-lived as they returned to Oakland in 1995. The team struggled for form in the late 90s but put that behind them in the 2000s thanks to the rise of Charles Woodson and Rich Gannon and participated in Super Bowl XXXVII. In 2020, the Raiders permanently relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Las Vegas Raiders have achieved quite a lot since their inception over six decades later. With three Super Bowl championships, 15 division titles, and many other trophies, there’s no doubt that the Raiders are one of the top football teams in the country. But the team went through a rough patch after their third Super Bowl title and struggled to regain the form that gave them so much success. It took them till 2016 to secure a winning season since 2002.
